Psalm Space
Psalm Space welcomes listeners to be nurtured musically, to enter into a holy place of God’s presence and begin to find hope and healing for the soul, whether driving home from a hard day’s work or suffering a tragic loss. Peg Luke has created this unique and gripping project based on her favorite Biblical Psalms, prayers and hymns. The work features a vast array of musical styles to interpret six popular Psalms as well as beautifully composed new versions of "The Lord's Prayer", "Kum Bah Yah", "Beautiful Savior" and "The Prayer of St. Francis".
In Her Own Words:
As a child, listening to deeply spiritual music made me feel closer to God. When my parents passed away, I experienced the pain of loss and heartbreak, and looked for solace in music.
I realized my own need for comfort was also a need in my fellow human-beings who all have suffered some form of loss. This became my inspiration to create a musical work to encourage hurting people. I began in the Book of Psalms.
